Harvest Fine Foods Expertise in Education

Harvest Fine Foods provides 100 schools in Hampshire with all their fresh fruit, as well as over 100  private schools, independent schools and colleges, to help chefs in education cater for children and young people.

We also work closely with colleges within the south, to inspire and equip the next generation of up and coming chefs, with the knowledge and experience they need to work in the catering and hospitality industry. As a company, we want to encourage students to enjoy food and cooking, while gaining as much experience as they can before they go out to the industry, so in June 2018, we organised and sponsored the first MasterChef-style intercollege competition. The first Tri College Competition brought three colleges together and allowed the students to show off their cooking skills in a professional kitchen environment.

Our fruit and vegetables are grown and sourced from local suppliers wherever possible and  seasonal produce is available, such as New Forest Strawberries, watercress from The Watercress Company and Isle of Wight Tomatoes. We deliver pre-prepped fruit and vegetables which have been prepped by our in-house prep team. Overall, we ensure that children are served seasonal, high quality, freshly picked food and school chefs can prepare meals quickly. In the last year, we have also helped two clients gain their Food For Life Awards.

A customer testimonial from the education sector

“I have a great relationship with Harvest Fine Foods and get a level of customer service that surpasses most other companies. They meet the needs of our business as well as offering us training and networking opportunities for ourselves, as well as our students. The products are of high quality and nothing seems to be any trouble. The product range is vast and they will always try to source something if they do not stock it.” Simon Hart, Southampton City College.
